To Have a Meal

It can be hard to get your family around the table at the same time to have a meal together. What are some things that you think can help a family start having dinner together more often?

For me, my kids are young. So it’s a bit more easy to have family meal times. I try and make something that I think everyone will like, or most will like. Sometimes I take my daughter with me to the grocery market, and she’ll pick out something she likes to eat; like cauliflour, and I’ll make it a couple different times that following week. Another idea, is to go through the family and pick a favorite meal or dessert (since dessert is usually one of the best parts). Pick a different favorite meal each week or two meals that week to make.

We attended the Sunday 6/21/09 service. We are searching for a new bible based church to become members. I very much enjoyed Dale’s sermon and believe in the importance of family meals. As we are the family of Jesus Christ we must set examples daily to our children. Growing up we all sat down at a specific time for supper. Each of us were given a part in preparing for the dinner. whether it be setting the table peeling the potatoes setting out the condiments etc. Each had a certain place and no one sat down until dad was home from work .
In todays fast paced everyone has to be somewhere now worls the family is torn apart before it can even get together. At least one day a week should be set aside and all should take part in the preparation so it becomes their contribution and they know they belong. One night will lead to more. Fellowship will follow. How do we impliment this? It should start with the heads of the family but sometime out of the mouths of babes==== start with this monday we have an appointment to meet with the rest of the family at —- time. everyones presence is required dinner wil be served with disscussions to follow. or Tuesday is ______ special night we are all going to join him/her at dinner to celibrate him/her on Thurs (or next Tues) will be _______ special night etc.
